Delve deeper into the matter,
as a chemist at LANXESS

Chemistry

Natural scientists in their element

We are looking for committed, team-driven chemists who can work responsibly and who are completely in their element with exciting projects and global challenges.

As one of the leading specialty chemicals groups we offer ambitious chemistry graduates an international project and working environment with demanding tasks and diverse development opportunities both in Germany and abroad. The work areas at LANXESS are very diverse and cover high-performance plastics, elastomers, organic-chemical intermediate products and inorganic specialty chemicals.

The extremely popular expert fields include organic chemistry, technical chemistry, polymer chemistry and inorganic chemistry. Knowledge of technical chemistry is definitely an advantage in our company. We prefer a completed doctorate for entry positions in research and development or, for example, in project management.

When you start with us you will initially be acquiring the necessary know-how by intense training on the job. With an entry program for natural scientists you will have support in becoming familiar with your work area within the LANXESS company. You will be trained not only in innovative subjects, but also business studies and work safety.

The right job for all types

Diverse and varied challenges await you at LANXESS:
As a laboratory manager in the research and development section you can realize your desire for discovery to the full – be it in our Innovation & Technology group function or directly in one of our operative business units. With your expertise you develop new or improved products, or seek alternative applications for existing products, support and maintain university projects and work on answers for different technological issues.

Or would you prefer a management role in our operating business? After joining LANXESS you have the opportunity to become an operations manager at one of our production or technical facilities. This role involves production planning, process improvement, identifying and resolving capacity bottlenecks as well as introducing new products. Upholding and maintaining environmental, plant and work safety regulations is a key factor for each of these demanding, responsible tasks.

As a globally operating company we of course also offer you the opportunity to be involved in cross-company, international projects or to assume a position abroad for a longer period of time and as such to gain inter-cultural experience.
